It seems that the problem only happen with the built-in audio interface. Interesting, isn't it ?

Well, I'm using OSX 10.4.7. As for the I/O buffer size, whatever the setting, it doesn't seem like it affects this weird playback behavior.

Ok, I just add replace my two 256Mo DDR with a 1Go one. The problem still happens

Actually, I have 512 mo. Isn't that enough ?

Thanks for the tip but, unfortunately, it doesn't seem to fix the problem. Actually, my HD setting was already ok. Moreover, the problem also occurs when clips are load in RAM. I would also add that I've never faced this problem with Live 5. Another Idea ?

I forgot to mention one detail. I don't know wether it's helpfull or not, but I noticed that while the playback freezes, the mouse cursor is also locked. Then, when the audio comes back, I can move the cursor again.

I recently installed Live 6 on my powerbook G4 1,5 ghz and since then, I've been facing an annoying problem. Whatever the session, when I hit the space bar or activate a clip, it takes a while before the playback starts. Then, It stops after a few seconds (in general one or two bars) and ...

Even people like Sasha and Hawtin dont use gear that would take up that much space on a table. Not that I am going around on Utube looking for hawtin and sash vids, but hawtin is using things like a fader fox and has his laptop perched on the edge of booths half the time.

I have my eyes on a far better touch technology as I mentioned before. "Synaptics Clearpad".
It looks like the perfect material for the Apple tablet that we may or may not see in the future. If you can have a screen that feels like a pad.....

As far as i can tell, it seems that there is a major issue with FTIR : it doesn't work under spotlight or daylight, which can be kind of annoying.
