weird playback issue with Live 6 + powerbook G4
Hi folks,
I recently installed Live 6 on my powerbook G4 1,5 ghz and since then, I've been facing an annoying problem. Whatever the session, when I hit the space bar or activate a clip, it takes a while before the playback starts. Then, It stops after a few seconds (in general one or two bars) and resumes a while after. It occurs even with the most minimal session (ie a single audio clip without any fx). The CPU doesn't seem overload.
Have anyone faced or heard about this issue ?
Thanks in advance!

Sounds like what usually happens when you start playback in Live while some disk is not yet ready (i.e. has to spin up from disk sleep mode).
Thanks for the tip but, unfortunately, it doesn't seem to fix the problem. Actually, my HD setting was already ok. Moreover, the problem also occurs when clips are load in RAM. I would also add that I've never faced this problem with Live 5. Another Idea ?

I would highly recommend you go for 2gb total on yours, I've noticed performance increases at 2gb, and its a good investment either way.
what is your buffer settings set to in live? also what version of OSX you got?
