Re: Moving from Reason/Record (first impressions and questions)
Hey, nice to hear more Ableton users popping up. It's my favourite DAW because it gives me an incredible amount of flexibility and depth of control (especially with the addition of max4live). Why try to emulate hardware in software when you can utilize the software to its maximum in the first place?...

Re: live only using one processor core
Your not using 'ASIO 4 All' Audio Driver that's not a solution to your problem necessarily just a statement, I'm suprized you've not chosen to download and install the good old free for nothing enhancement..Ave a go.. ASIO4ALL does make things a little better, but I would still have drop-outs and g...

Re: live only using one processor core
Hey, I think I have the same issue here. I have glitches and CPU spikes beyond 110%, while having a quad core processor. What's even more amazing, is that Ableton utilizes only 1 core! My laptop specs: Clevo M860TU (Clevo barebone, branded by XXODD) Core 2 Quad q9000 (2.0GHz) 4GB RAM @ 1066 128GB SS...

Re: Automation curves
Yeah I see what you mean. I always make sure I select draw mode (Ctrl+B in my case) when I want to be precise, and if I want a more 'customized' envelope, I'll just go out of draw mode and edit the automation further.

Re: Automation curves
Have you tried drawing the automation in draw mode while being in a specific grid size?kingrad wrote:Snapping the automation points exactly to the grid would save so much time, like for when you want to cleanly mute a send for example

Re: What are the best headphones for mixing?
I have the HD-25 with the HD-650 copper cable and it certainly has a very open and clear characteristic. But let's say I would up the notch, are there any headphones more capable of doing my mixes on? I know there are the really expensive ones, but I think they're more geared towards HiFi use. Espec...

Retaining pitch while playing samples on diff. keys
Dear Ableton (ab)users, I'm having trouble arranging multiple samples on one track, hence I bring you a noobish question (I did search though!) How can I insert multiple samples (e.g. crashes) into a mixer track and trigger them with MIDI notes (like, 1 crash on C3, another crash on C#3 etc.), while...
