I would like to add that, very oddly, when a group contains 6 tracks or more, then, when closed, the compacted tracks visualisation inside the group is bigger, and so, more controls are available.

No, this does not change anything.
In Live 10, when a group is closed, and you try to make the track higher, it automatically reopens all included tracks below.

In Live9, there was a small arrow in arrangement view, under groups, that would hide all tracks in this group, and leave only the group track and its controls. It was then possible to see the track's fader , and work with it.

What would it look like if I had a Live set, with on a track Kore 2 as VST or AU and inside Kore all the synths he needs to play live.
Would it be easier to manage for the CPU ?

Ah yes, that I could do. But the fact is, we play live, so we have nothing in the arrangement window. Nothing is time based, everything is improvised (more or less).

I didn't find a way to automate ON and OFF switching of my plugs in my clip automation. I can assign Macros to the switch and all, but the ON OFF function doesn't appear in my automation menu... or am I missing something ?

I just did the test with VST and AU. Not 1000 of them, just 10 or 20 in an Instrument Rack.
When I switch my VST off one by one, I can see my CPU decrease.
So I guess VST are using CPU and RAM while ON, even if they're not selected in the Instrument Rack.
And that is a reaaaaaaaaal shame.

OK I just made the test.
On my own session, live is at 30% CPU before hitting play. While playing, it shows around 55% and is stable around that.
But when I turn my idle VST off, my CPU decreases for about 1% per plugin !!! Which is great considering the amount of plugs me and my collegue are using ...

so if he just turns his plugins off when he doesn't use them it would free up the ressources it uses when it's idle...
