Hello all,
I'm working on a project where you could manipulate cassettes hands on like vinyl. You would also be able to manipulate via midi. I believe my target audience is djs, but would like everyones opinion. I'm calling it the cassette stepper.

dual monitor bug
I use a macbook pro. When I am running ableton on an external monitor, and I unplug the monitor, when I plug it back in, ableton's GUI is blank white. The only way to resolve this problem is to restart ableton.
Thanks

Yes!
The SAC and ableton could be so great together!! Supporting the higher res encoders would be really nice, as well as better use of some of the buttons.

Midi CC out knobs on External intrument
I think it would be great to have some knobs you could assign to your synths CC controllable parameters. Pretty much the same as the macro knobs on racks. Perhaps even for external effects. Maybe even just a ableton plugin that you could drop on any track and send CCs.
yay!

Midi out for External audio effect
This one seemed obvious to me. Why not have a handy little midi out box identical to the one on the external instrument? I know there are workarounds for this, but it would be really handy to have it right there ready to go. Half of my external effect units have midi control. I know that you would ...

One arm costs about 1200usd. A pair costs 2200. The parent company makes a full body suit, that could be modified for midi output, but I have no idea how much it costs.

No spoofin goin on here. It's for real. It's actually a pretty simple concept. Slap a potentiometer on each of your arm's rotational axis, and BAM! Midi arm. The gypsy unit was actually originally developed for motion capture to be applied to animation. So they just modded the data output to be midi.

Getting the most from your gypsy motion capture midi arm
So, heres my question to all the ableton pros out there. If you had a Gypsy midi arm, what would you set it up to control? If you don't know what I'm talking about head over here, www.sonalog.com . I have 1 arm. It's ridiculously fun. My main goal for it is to use it live and remove any trace of ...

Portland Or. Users
I know there are a few out there. I've met a few of you because youve come into guitar center, where I work. Maybe I even sold you a copy. I would really enjoy getting together with some other pro users to discuss technique. If you are a beginner I also teach private lessons.
