Midi out for External audio effect

This one seemed obvious to me. Why not have a handy little midi out box identical to the one on the external instrument? I know there are workarounds for this, but it would be really handy to have it right there ready to go. Half of my external effect units have midi control. I know that you would have to see a midi track for it somehow, but couldn't there be an open arrow like you get when you load an instrument rack to display all your effect track midi outs?
