After being inspired by Tom Cosm's new ebook, '10 Ways to Keep the Creative Juices Flowing', I finished a track. This one is electro with a lot of feeling. Let me know what you think. Don't go easy.

Manual Control of Flanger Frequency?
Is there any way to manually adjust the position of the 'jet' and map it to a macro knob? I'd like to manually bring it up and down with a knob. Does this question even make sense?

Re: New Family Member (APC40) - Electro/Progressive House Jam
Thanks Jim! Glad you likey. Most of the moves I did on this video were high-pass frequency shifting of the white noise, glitching via the cross-fader, queueing up clips, mutes, solos, etc. Actually, I'll post an updated video shortly with some new flavor. Plenty of room for error. Since I'm going ze...

Re: Convert WAV to 320 MP3
Sooo easy! Do the following, and you will make it so that you can easily right-click any WAV file, and instantly convert it to 320kbps MP3. By far the simplest, quickest, and moste effective solution. (I modified these instructions slightly) 1- Download lame encoder from http://www.free-codecs.com/L...

Re: New Family Member (APC40) - Electro/Progressive House Jam
Thanks Terrence! I'm glad you like the break! Me too. I love the melodic stuff. =) I really appreciate your honest words! Let me stress, this is not a completed song. This is something I made to learn the APC's abilities. Once its complete, I'll make sure to post some high quality sound links. Curre...

New Family Member (APC40) - Electro/Progressive House Jam
Hey guys. Its been a while since I posted anything. I've been trying to learn the ins and outs of my beloved new APC40. I'm attempting to incorporate its power into my music. I'm reducing any recorded automation to a minimal and recording raw. Anyways, I made a youtube video of a track I'm working o...

Re: Rises, washes, flourishes.. How do you do them?
Interesting hearing these methods. I usually start with the native ableton 'distored wind machine' and tweak it to make it rise. I also like to take cymbals and reverb and stretch the hell out of it for a similar effect. On this note. I wonder if there is some sort of VST that can assist in creating...

Re: How do i get a really heavy guitar/bass sound?
This is what you want. Drop these VSTs on your clean guitar tracks. Play around with the channels and drive. You will be able to achieve some heavy distortion and amp modeling. Best of all, its free. http://www.kvraudio.com/get/465.html

Re: APC40 - Map Bank Select to Knobs?
In case anyone is interested. The folks over at NativeKontrol work magic with stuff like this. They have some presets that will blow your mind. I advise anyone with an APC40 to see what NK has to offer.

Re: APC40 - Map Bank Select to Knobs?
Well, the issue is that I cant 'click' the bank select in ableton when configuring maps.
For the volume control on the track control, I have not attempted it, for fear of breaking something.

APC40 - Map Bank Select to Knobs?
Just got an APC40. For the most part, I'm very pleased with the functionality. However, I'm not happy with the clicky bank select buttons. Is there a way to midi-map the bank select function to one (or two for hotizontal scrolling) of the endless encoders? Has anyone done this? Another question rega...

Live 8 - Pitch bending affecting all clips?
I'm using Live v8. In the session view, when I draw pitch bending automation on a clip's envelope, it seems to affect all clips in the track. It makes the notes an octave lower on all clips in that track. When I view the pitch bend enevelope on the new clip in the track, all parameters are set to th...

Re: Here it is: New Electro/Progressive House - Tips/Advice?
Thanks soo much! It really means the world to hear that from the experts around here. Can the sidechain compression be used as a drawable automation parameter in the session view? I'm guessing it can. Like I said before, I'm really new to the compression thing.
