8.2 crashing when loading VSTs
Never had any problems before with Absynth 4 or Battery 3 but Ableton, as far as I know, will not allow me to load them in my VST folder at start up ever since I upgraded to 8.2. I'm running Windows 7 (64 bit)and I generally run Ableton as Administrator so as to have access to my I.K. Multimedia ...

Re: Crash fest with I.K. Multimedia sampled instruments. Help!
@ Simpleton - I have completely terminated all securities on the user accounts on my Win 7 system. This did seem to help many of my plugins to finally appear in my VST folder.

Re: Crash fest with I.K. Multimedia sampled instruments. Help!
@ Simpleton - You can install Live as administrator by uninstalling your current version and then reinstalling by right clicking on the installer icon and selecting "run as administrator". It is the same process with the IK plugs as well. When opening Live and intending to work on or record any ...

Re: Crash fest with I.K. Multimedia sampled instruments. Help!
Just wanted to say that I am now having success with the IK plugs after reinstalling Ableton and IK plugs as administrator and then running Ableton as administrator.

Awwwwwww....
Well, I feel a little better just having someone else validate my experience. Strangely though, I am able to use my T-Racks plugins flawlessly on my laptop with Live 8.1.4. Haven't tried T-Racks on the big machine yet.

Crash fest with I.K. Multimedia sampled instruments. Help!
At this point I have tried nearly every trick under the sun. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both Live and I.K. stuff as administrator. I have installed on Windows 7 and Windows XP. I have moved VST folders to different drives. I have run Live as administrator. But frustratingly, some of my ...

Re: PLease Help! Ableton producing a screamingl distortion.
Just thought that I would chime back in on this topic and inform anyone concerned that I think the problem is N.I.'s Audio Kontrol 1's over sensitivity to electrical spikes. It seems that this same problem has been solved by many others by running all gear through a surge protector. Problem is not ...

Re: How solid is Live8 for you?
I have to say, I am really relieved just to hear that some of you are having some major difficulties with Live 8. Only because it at least lets me know that it is not just some weird bugs that occur just within my setup. Oh Great Genie of the Holographic Universe, Let the Technological Intelligences ...

Re: latency issues
Go and download ASIO4ALL and utilize this instead of your on-board sound card. It is absolutely free and will get the latency down so low that the response time between your midi input and playback will be practically the same as if you were playing any standard hardware synth or piano. Or go and ...

Re: problem with ableton
If your Realtek card dosen't have an ASIO driver I would immediately go and download the ASIO4ALL driver on-line and use it instead. ASIO4ALL is 100% free and should immediately clear up latency issues to a great extent. It is what I use when I am on the road and don't have access to my external ...

Re: PLease Help! Ableton producing a screamingl distortion.
Hi TaoNao,
I am afraid without a little more info it´s hard to shed any light into this:
- which version of Live have you been using?
- what´s your computer / audio hardware?
- what did the Liveset which was opened contain? if you can still reproduce the problem with the specific Liveset, please ...

PLease Help! Ableton producing a screamingl distortion.
At first I thought that this might be due to some sort of static electricity interference as it was produced twice after I stepped back up to my laptop after walking around the room for a minute or two while listening to a Live set playback. But, then last night after making sure that I had no ...
