Hi,
I'm using Live 8.2.1 on a Mac Book Pro (10.5.8).
I've been using live on this machine for a year and have had NO problems. I started up, and opened live, and shortly after it loaded a new set, it crashed. This keeps happening everytime.
I don't know what to do! It's crashing before I can even ...

Re: Kicks and snares sound like junk :/ Help please
I am layering the kicks finding a low, mid and high then applying compression but they just never sound like ones that you hear in songs. Same goes for the snares they never seem have much of a crunch to them and that would be with snares and claps layered together too.

Re: Any advice on doing "minimal" productions?
And when I say minimal, I'm not talking about minimal techno, I'm talking about productions that have a minimal number of tracks but are still some how interesting and dynamic enough to keep you locked in.

Re: Issue with Plugin Presets not saving with Ableton Set
I have an issue whereby Ableton sets, when loaded, no longer contain a saved preset with Native Instrument plugins. In other words, I could have a track housing BATTERY 3, for example, that after loading contains the instrument BATTERY, but not the saved drumkit. The same applies to other Native ...

Re: Warp for MIDI
I use my monomes solely as interfaces to a (very strange) synth, basically like a Hammond organ. I do a lot of improvising without a click track. Once, I recorded a lot of such improv into Ableton Live. If it had been audio, it would have been easy to go through and place a warp marker at each ...

Re: AU Plugins not active after live set is loaded
Hello,
I am pretty new to Live and have an issue with AU plugins. I have noticed when I load a live set that my AU plugins are not active though according to the way I have saved the set, they should be. If I disable and re-enable the plugins, they work fine with the correct settings.

Re: Clip Launch Toggle ...
You need to press the Save button inside the clip. Setting like these are stored in the .asd file that you find in the same folder the sample came from. As long as you keep those files together, the sample will always load with the settings you saved.

Re: master "clip pause" in session view
After you hit spacebar to stop playback, press Shift+Spacebar to resume playback where it stopped.
May I ask how to MIDI-map this function (resume playback) without having to use Bome's Translator to mimic Shift+Spacebar keypress or something like that? Thanks you!

Re: Which audio interface for Ableton & MacbookPro?
Hello everyone,
I am going to buy a new mac book pro (13'', intel core2duo) for use with ableton and a lot of external midi gear. Does anyone use the same configuration and can give a good recommendation for an audio interface? I need short latency (not more than 256 samples, better 128) and ROCK ...

Re: this. looks wonderful.....
Studio One - written by 2 ex Steinberg employees (who mostly worked on Nuendo, which is a very similar GUI to Cubase). Studio One is promising but still lacks some of the functionality of more developed DAWS, I expect as it evolves to about version 3 that it will be a killer DAW.
This DAW is ...

Re: this. looks wonderful.....
I hate what Cubase looks like. And I've become too fond of pulling the timeline in Live :>
I wouldn't say I hate Cubase, but Live's GUI is second to none. I love it. Quick navigation, quick results. In fact, Presonus Studio One has adopted the Live style, pulling timeline; works a treat.

Am I missing something? If I'm not then yes Cubase is a good product, on which many a good producer learned their trade. Me for one

Re: Rendered mix sounds quiet and lacks punch
If you want to use your own loops/ stems etc when playing out just remember to get your peaks right and the clubs limiter will do the rest. Loud is not always important; knowing your peaks is.
