That's my experience too. Did some limited testing last night with an ios app (Patterning) driving a drum rack. Dragged the tempo sliders in Patterning and Live all over the place and sync stayed solid. Link is the real deal.

lol. Look at the dates of the posts. OP comes back to complain *again* nearly two years after saying they uninstalled software.

That's some impressive follow through there.

Re: Using any DAW with a touch screen monitor?

This may be of interest to some on this thread. Molten Music has a video series where he shares his experience with DAWs on a Surface Pro. Here's his installment for Live: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPLUivPDK0Q The bit he covers about absolute mouse mode beginning around 7:30 might be of intere...

Re: Performance BETTER when Ableton NOT foreground window - why?

I've noticed that I'm more likely to get "the crunchies" when parts of the Ableton interface or a vst interface are highly animated - e.g. meters moving, knobs moving, sliders moving, other kinds of animation. I can sometimes make the crunchies go away by minimizing windows in which there'...

Re: Best iPad app for starting projects to be brought into Live?

Also as far as I know there is no MIDI sync between DAW apps and sound generating apps so if you have a sound generating app with a step sequence or arpeggiator it’s not going to automatically start the sequence when you hit play on the DAW and the tempo isn’t going to automatically match either. T...

Re: Best iPad app for starting projects to be brought into Live?

My workflow is similar to tarekeith's. gadget, figure, and tnr-i to sketch ideas out. If I work with multitrack audio on the ipad at all I use multitrack daw, very barebones, audio only DAW. But often I just import audio directly from ipad apps into ableton. In addition DM-1 already mentioned, I'd r...

Re: To everybody having problems with dropouts and CPU spikes

I've never tested whether I get crackling while moving midi notes while the audio engine is running like Angstrom. However, I have observed that crackling is more pronounced when vst GUIs are open. So it seems like both sources of crackling might be related to what is being displayed by Live. Simila...

Brent Kallmer's Reaktor tutorials are really well done IMO and are geared towards using and connecting existing ensembles rather than making new ones.

Re: PC USERS: What DAW are you using in addition to Live?

None. Used to export stems from Live into Sonar for mixing and mastering. I've been resisting Cakewalk's weekly emails for a $49 upgrade to X3 because I won't use it. Don't want to clog up my hard drive with something I'll never use. Why? Because there isn't anything I used to do in Sonar that I can...

Re: I dont get people who say live looks old/ugly/out of date

Sorry, to clarify I meant Livecontrol which is "premium content" for the Lemur ipad app. Kind of an expensive solution if you don't own an ipad. :-) But if you do own an ipad, the Lemur app costs about $50 iirc .

Re: I dont get people who say live looks old/ugly/out of date

I like Star Trek TNG. I have this extremely naive wish for something like that to be our future. I surf the net and gather info for whatever I need. I realise that ST:TNG will never be a possible future. In case you're serious (I like the design vibe of ST:TNG computer screens - I assume that's wha...
