Multi sampling will help a bit as basic raw wave form can vary quite a bit across the key range - saw and pulse particularly.

But what really makes the sound of an analog synth is its filters - its relatively easy to digitally model an oscilator ...

I believe it is one of the many produced auto-accompaniment drum machines with preset patterns. Some were built into organs and many were stand alone machines.

It would be difficult to be precisely name the one used in this sound file.

i got the 'able-ton' part right... it was 'parameter' i was saying wrong.

now i say it like Henke with a german accent and smile.

another technique is to use 2 mics.

use mic 1 to record the amped sound(drum machine, synth, etc.) close to source

use mic 2 to record ambience from another area like down the hall, across the room, etc.

now you can change the balance of the mix between the two... provided you recorded on ...
