MIDI goes out from Ableton MIDI-track through USB-cable to a MOTU Midiexpress 128, from there throgh midi-cable to a synthesizer. Audio goes out from synthesizer through audiocable into FireFace UCX, from there through USB into Ableton audiotrack. All audio-clips I record that way are 20-30ms ...

"Reduced latency when monitoring" is often the cause of such pops.
Theres a trade off....have RLWM active and play softsynths with minimal latency (but their clocking will by off-time and pops will happen if their stream needs recalculating)
Or have RLWM off, and the synth will be as latent as the ...

To monitor with the minimun latency, make sure on every project you click on:
-> Options -> Reduce latency when monitoring

Or just create a new one, click that go to Preferences and save it as a default project.

Hello Guys, sometimes while recording sessions i end up adding or moving plugins in the chain but more often than not the sound "clicks" or "pops" for a split second.

Is there a way to avoid this?

I noticed that a lot of times i start a session with a given MIDI SYNC DELAY set on my MIDI CLOCK OUT from ableton but half way a recording session the "latency" slightly changes and it turns out drums that were perfectly tiemd to the grid now are late by a few milliseconds ( enough to have phase ...

That's funny, are you using USB? I use "real midi cables" so that might be a difference as well

A funny situation i found now.

I'm sending MIDI NOTES to one machine and MIDI CLOCK to another machine.

In order to get the machine i'm sending MIDI on the grid, i had to use exacty -13.6 on the "Track Delay", yes 0.6 and it works perfectly!
