When you configure a "control surface" in ableton ( my case are the faderfoxes ), ableton brings a blue hand each time you click an instrument of effect.
The thing is normally the parameters arent auto-assigned to the knob i want.
I remember reading a very old thread where someone revealed a text file in some preferences folder where you can read and edit those assignments..
any help is very much appreciated ( :
editing the autoassign of efx/plugins ( takeover mode )

Hi,
I guess you mean creating a new Remote Script - http://audio.tutsplus.com/tutorials/pro ... scripting/ .
Hope this is useful!

Re: editing the autoassign of efx/plugins ( takeover mode )
Why not make an instrument rack as the first item in your chain, and map the 8 macro knobs to the parameters you want to control. That way, when you select a track, the blue hand is automatically on the instrument or effect rack and you can just start turning knobs and control only the parameters you want?

I guess the downside is that it would only be assigned to that rack (so you don't even need to have the blue hand in there). By changing the remote scripts you can set up unlimited racks and as long as you select one, the midi knobs will apply to that rackBrian Ffar wrote:Why not make an instrument rack as the first item in your chain, and map the 8 macro knobs to the parameters you want to control.
