I am wondering what the risk is to plug my push sa audio outs into an unknown mixer with an unknown person running sound -- If phantom power gets turned on and I am just using trs-xlr cables, is the push going to get fried?

If so, would putting a 2-channel direct box in between be the solution ...

Same problem.
The TR8S (in aggregated mode with my RME UCX) causes differences in latency.
I realized this by following the Ableton tutorial on driver error compensation.

Test results:
RME alone = 0 latency
TR8S + RME = variable latency (test 1 = 15ms / t2 = 30 / t3 = 31ms / t4 = 22ms ...
