connect the two macs with a network cable (cat5). open applications>utilities>audio/midi set up on both of the macs. Double click on Networks.
create a new session by clicking the "+" and name it, on one of the macs.

it's really more about the operating system. if you like convolution, drivers, ridiculous file structure, and viruses, go PC.

I can never understand why all these companies make these interfaces with just one set of stereo outs and no midi. what the hell can you do with that? not dj. lame.

well of course, as everyone is going to tell you, there's really no "one click" mastering solution. That being said, there are some plug ins that do a pretty good job of beefing up your sound without squashing the life out of it. most likely you'll want some kind of multiband compression going on ...

check out the Focusrite Sapphire 6 usb. I recently switched from an NI AK1 which was super buggy. So far the Focusrite has been flawless. I use it for both DJn and Live PA with Ableton on an aluminum Macbook. 4 stereo outs and midi in/out. $199 new.

The us144 is only one stereo out, not two. therefore no cueing possible. sorry.
