- Plenty of gate's were used to shape the pads & bassline,
Works really well if you use silent drum tracks to cut things up a little!
- Then you can drop the gates, as it were.. and open things ...

Future Bound Analysis (DnB Track)
Good evening,
Here's a little Drum & Bass track I've been working on for a while,
The track was put together with Ableton Suite 8 & Max for Live.
- Synth wise, most are internal (operator) but a few use Massive & FM8 by NI (Massive's performance LFO is fun! ^^)
So far I've been mixing it through ...

That's fair comment indeed, you should hopfully be a fan of the shorter edit I mentioned above :) it drops straight into the 'rezzy goodness' from the off...
I've also attempted to mix (dj) the shortened DnB track over some commercial tunes & it's sounding fairly lagit (it fits), but I've heard ...

Re: Peter Gabriel - Mercy Street Cover
Nice work indeed... I enjoyed that a lot - very original for a cover!
Only a brave person would take on such a classic, and you my friend have done it justice.
Thank you for composing and sharing!
P.S. What vitamin-e said could be interesting - DnB-Peter Gabriel, hmm, don't think that's ...

You are very kind, thank you for the wonderful feedback! :D
And as promised, here is the code for the (max-4-live) 5 Channel Spectrum Analyser I put together:
It's quite a simple patch, that uses plugsend~ & plugrecieve~ to send multiple audio signals to one plug-in. The plug-in has 5 spectrum ...

Re: New Drum and Bass Track : Rambession & some ambient ideas...
Thanks for the kind reply artic!
(The drums on their own are running into 16 channels - with enough automation to run a small factory!) :D
Regarding the vocal (which I yoinked from a CM-cover disc) is the thiness perhaps related to EQ?
(because I did thin it out quite a bit at the lower end) or ...

New Drum and Bass Track : Rambession & some ambient ideas...
Hi,
I've updated my track Rambession, a little DnB number composed within Suite 8.
I can't stress how much I love Ableton! and when I thought the world could not be a brighter place...
- What's this??? Oh-no! I happened to discover the delights of Max-4-Live! :-O Oh, my word.....
There is nothing ...

Re: My first Dnb track created with Ableton Suite 8 - Rambession
Thank you ever so much for your kind comments and I really appreciate the advice.
You've both sort of confirmed a couple of thoughts I've had over where to take it next, I must say, particularly on the sub-front.
Last night I bounced the audio coming from the two deepest channels (pre-fx) to two ...

Hello world,
Here's a little DnB number for you to check out.
The track started life a random ambient noodling session, but took on a whole new lease of life once the drums were dropped into it... :)

Re: Automation snap to grid?
I agree, select a range, drag the envelope bar up then delete (double-click) any extra points you don't need.
Then in addition to this, I use Ctrl-Left-Click to drag the points up/down vertically. (The Ctrl key seems to lock the evelope points so that they wont move from side-to-side.)
