Re: How Do You Guys Rate the Tascam FW-1082 Audio Interface ? ??
i have the 1884 and love it. the pre's are nothing spectacular, maybe a little dull but they do their job. it's been extremely reliable to date, but was recently EOL'ed so there will never be 64bit drivers for mac.

Re: NI classic comps
why haven't they emulated the Alesis 3630??? isn't it a classic now? where's the $200 UAD or Waves emulation of that $100 piece of discontinued hardware? i'm holding out for vst emulations of other vsts. "NI presents a meticulous recreation of ableton's compressor" or vst emulations of ot...

Re: ipad apps - what are you using?
polychord. really fun yet still completely useful. unless you don't care to work with chord progressions in which case it's probably not much use.
and nanostudio is imho the best all-in-one app, despite it being an iphone app. it looks just fine 2x'ed on the ipad.

Re: Getting a new computer - Would like to run a VST Orchestra
that's a tall order. you might want to consider a two computer system...one running your daw and one running ve pro for all of the library instruments. the vsl and soundsonline forums are probably the best places to get your questions answered.

Re: Bass design help please
formant filtering can get you that mouth-ish sound. massive has some wavetables that have vocal/formant modulations already in them...check out e.g. modern talking or gentle speech. back that up with a bass-ier oscillator, assign a knob to both wavetable position and filter cutoff at the same time, ...

Re: seems like not a lot of movie composer
+1. i do everything in live, with the exception of 5.1 mixing in logic. midi can be clumsy, but for the most part it does the job just fine.posssu wrote:I work as a full-time film composer and use Live as my one-and-only DAW. But that doesn't mean we are many, though...

Re: touchable replaces novation launchpad? crushes?
IMO software will never replace hardware like this. While you can basically launch stuff using the launchpad with your eyes closed you'll never be able to pull that off with a touchscreen. Why would you be closing your eyes? Are you a blind dj? Seems foolish IMO. I know. Why would want to be closin...
