2 laptop sync - soundcard advice

Post by bharrower » Fri Oct 16, 2009 12:04 pm

Hi,

I need some advice:

I'm looking to sync two laptops (using either wireless or ethernet, undecided) in order for two of us to play simultaneously.

I have one 4 output Firewire Audiophile Soundcard. Is there any way of using this for both laptops or do I need another 4 output Soundcard to make this possible?

Cheers

The best way to do this, if you can, is to hook both laptops up to something that outputs a MIDI clock itself (eg, a drum machine). Then you slave both to this clock, and should be working sweet.

I'm sorry but I don't know how you do this without... :?

and I don't think you'll be able to use the one soundcard.. some MOTU cards can do this I think, but you'd be very lucky to find an M-Audio card that will...
