seriously? wow. i'm on my 24th hour of a live 8 suite library rebuild. why the f#$@ does it take so long????????????????? is there a plan to fix this. might have to move BACKWARDS to cubase SX and reason slave. not cool.

Assuming you are running windows since you said HP laptop...
.. turn off windows search/index service
disable your internet connection then turn off your virus protection.
that should speed things up dramatically.

that doesnt really solve the issue though. it should take 24 hours to rebuild a library. what you suggested is just a workaround and as with any workarounds it doesnt adress the problem directly. if his hardware is ok, then its a bug. i have noticed myself that rebuilding the library takes a long time, far too long for me to actually sit and wait for it to finish. infact, reinstalling is faster.jbodango wrote:Assuming you are running windows since you said HP laptop...

thanks for the responses, but the machine i work on has no internet connection, therefore no AV software. it's optimized for recording. no indexing service either. that's one of the first things that gets disabled along with system restore. after i posted this, the rebuild finally finished...it took over 24 hours to complete. now everything is fine. thanks again.
