this must be a different issue - the problem with the icons was so far only on 10.4/10.5 and PPC machines.
Did you try to reboot your machine/repair your disk permissions?

I've repaired my permissions many times but this has not solved the issue.
Do you have any other suggestions?

same here. I've repaired my permissions, etc, but it still does this.

Macbook Pro. OSX 10.5.8. Ableton Live 8.05.

I get generic folder icons, but inside the folder is an "empty" file titled "icon."
