well that's a complicated question. various denominations consider any music created w/instruments evil. also along the same lines similar faiths consider dancing wrong...seems silly but its true.
also their is the over all Christian philosophical stance towards self sacrifice over hedonism hence the music/dancing = bad stance.

Make any kind of music you want! Just MAKE music. Don't let them fool you man! You aren't going to hell for making music... however if you kill people and don't tell anyone then hell might be in line for you. Unless those people suck. is it me or does setting out to create art based on the pre conceived limitation of a genre sort of defeat the purpose of creating in the first place? Not that your music won't end up being pegged as being part of a genre after its complete...but let others decide this.
