xbox 360 controller as a midi controller?
I was wondering if the rumours are true that you can use an xbox 360 controller as a midi controller and how I would go about doing this
Any suggestions??

not 100% sure how you would make this work in practice...
first of all you're going to need the dongle USB connector so that your PC can actually understand what the controller is saying.
next you're going to need a piece of software to translate the joystick to midi data. start here : http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=jo ... stick+midi
I tried it with my PS3 Rock Band drums and I couldn't make it work but who knows what I may done wrong.

I would also like to do know if anyone knows how to do this for a ps3 controller too.
jcwillia, there is an article on this in this months edition of 'future music' that shows you how to turn all the rock band instruments into controllers ,I can't seem to find a a copy online though unfortunately

Hey yo,
Xpadder can turn the USB Xbox control pad into a QWERTY input device, check it out if that interests you. You can map using keystroke mapping in live, or get tricky and use a MIDI converter like Bomes to have bona fida MIDI action.
Good lucks!
