Soundcloud can't make waveform

Post by rbro » Tue Oct 20, 2009 6:16 am

Anyone else have this trouble? I uploaded a WAV file about 2 hours ago and it's still trying to make the waveform. I tried replacing the file and even tried uploading an MP3 version, but no luck. I checked their support forum and there's an outstanding issue from a year ago. Sheesh. Anyone have a workaround of any sort?

I had the same problem. I read in the SoundCloud forums that there is a queue for the waveforms, so I just waited a few hours and it eventually appeared.

As awesome as they are, I think that SoundCloud needs more infrastructure. =)

Yes, Pro account. File is 118MB. I let it run overnight and still no luck :(

SoundCloud is becoming more and more hype those days...

so the queue grows and grows!!

But I can remember soundcloud beeing very slow even at its early days...

It pisses me off. They put all their money/efforts into creating cool new players, etc. and meanwhile I can't upload a friggin' file. If they can't get that basic functionality to work, they should focus all their efforts/money/resources on that first. This is an issue that is over a year old now. :x
