Operator

Post by Alforno » Mon Feb 07, 2005 4:04 pm

Hi,

I'm trying the operator demo and I've got a few questions about it. :?:

1/ When I acces a tutorial of the Operator, only the synth appers with Live, but there's ne texte that explain what to do. How can I acces it?

2/ What is the button "tone"?

3/What represents the envelope of the filter field?

Thanks

hi Alforno,

1) unfortunately I can nothing say about, I have to talk to alex first. when opening a lesson, the lesson's text should be displayed on the right side of live.

2) the tone slider controls the aliasing and the amount of high frequencies produced by fm. you can hear it when you use a real fm algorithm where a osc modulates another one. when using the parallel algorithm (the last one), tone has no effect.

3) the envelope in the filter section can be mapped to the cutoff frequency. by default, this mapping is turned off. to enable, you should increase the parameter "envelope" in the filter section.

kind regards,
matthias

Alex

Hello Alex,

I use a 960 X 600 resolution and I've got Win xp. I've tried to use a higher resolution, but I can't. When I triy, the screen gets blurred. Do you know why?

Bye

Hi Alforno,

currently you need a least an horizontal resolution of 1024 to show the lessons. I will see if we can reduce it to a horizontal resolution of 800 pixels but I cannot yet promise it.

It's probably a problem between your graphic card and your monitor.
Is 900 x 600 the highest resolution your graphic card offers?

Alex

Hi Alforno,

within the latest beta of the upcoming bug fix update of Live 4.1.1 we removed the screen resolution restrictions for the Lesson view.
So you should able to see the Lesson there.
