ATLANTA USERS!!!

Hey everyone out there my name is Nicholas. I live North of Atlanta. I've been an Ableton Live fan for a very long time been a user since Live 6. Just got my own APC 40 and am loving it.

I have been working on a project for the past year called Smooth Illusion. Its a live set Liquid Jazz/Drum and bass group with REAL horn players. Just about done getting all the song together been alot of work.

But i was wondering who are the users that live in the Atlanta area or as far as North Carolina and Florida too. Im really looking to get some connection with different users. Am going to WMC this year, SOOO looking forward to that. But would love to hear from some of you guys....

I live in Charlotte (originally from NYC) I use ableton as the center piece of my production. I have a couple of hardware sound modules, reason 4 and a bunch of 3rd party vstI's and ableton lets me treat them all the same. I feel like Live was made just me. I been using version 7 only since about the time it was released

What kind of music do you make and what vsti's would you say is the best? Any help for someone that cannot sing? Lol

sorry for the late reply. I been wasting my time on unrelated forums and I want to strive to be more active here. I'm into hip hop but open to anything that sounds good. I want to be a student of music and audio. not really a true Vst but reason has always been a favorite of mine. it was one of the 1st programs I got into and has alway been my bread and butter.

in older versions of reason its sequence has been lacking(its getting better but still no audio) and I needed a way to incorporate my existing midi hardware with my software and existing audio so I went with Live. for years I always saw live from the outside looking in but heard nothing but good things about it. before I owned it I never really understood the layout and got past the learning curve. the session/ arrangement view relationship threw me off at 1st. I get it now(its all about the back to arrangement button) I took a chance and brought it on a whim since it was suppose to be great for production (my partner uses Acid and everyone told me this was the mac equivalent of acid. I found that to be true in a sense that it works well with loops but I was even more happy when I discovered the midi fx' in Live(my favorite feature)


as far as true vst'i I like Native's instrument's komplete5 bundle. can be a bit buggy sometimes. it reminds me of reason to some extent.

Wow thanks for the message... ITs good to hear from Another user!!! Ya ive been kinda busy too. Been working with a corp. band doing sound. Working to get a new 3.33 gHz imac. That new 21.5 inch... 8 GB ram oh ya... Maybe by the time i have the money they will have a refurbished one buy then.

But yes im still running 7.0.16 for the time being. Im going to do the upgrade when i get the new mac. I wonder if there is some way we cam program that new mouse that they got.

Well, keep in touch. We need to have a meet and greet with everyone else in the atlanta area. Maybe show off what were all doing. I have a great venue Let me know guys...

Well first things first we need to try to get everyone one together. IF you know any one that uses ableton we need them on here!!!

I will post pics when we get it. And some vids We will be getting a Kodak Zi8 HD pocket Cam soon so i'll have iSight and the Kodak to do videos with the shows my group does and usless bs... LOL

Hmmmmmm, musician, me, no ... lol

Ok, so I used to be a DJ, yes many years ago so I love playing music and yes now even making/creating music. Ok, so it's electronic music, no surprises there. Minimal electronic music if you like, created using Ableton live 7 LE and loops, and yes, sometimes a keyboard melody I created myself in there also. I use ezdrummer sometimes for the drums but mainly loops.
