weird crashes

Post by lightshy » Wed Feb 23, 2005 3:50 pm

every once in a while (don't know if there's a pattern) live crashes on me just after i've opened a set. and not all of them, just certain ones and it's impossible to continue workin. the cpu meter spikes up to 128%, 170% and jut now to 300% or so. if i choose to open a nother set everything's fine.

i've read a suggesttion that when this occurs, a thing to do is to make a minor change in the set and save under a different name. well i've tried this but it's still not working.

any help?!

and yes, i know i have to upgrade my ram, so don't be pickin on that unless it's the single/main thing causing this. tho, i doubt it is. i have no probs with other sets.

and yeah, the set i was talkin about has about 4 or 5 audio tracks, 2 midi ones, 2 instances of psp vintage warmer, a waves L2, 3 ping pong delays, a reverb (ableton native one), an erosion plug, so it's nothing big. just started workin on this a few days ago.

it must come from the vsts you're using. try to remove them one after the other and see what happens (just move them outside of your vst plugin folder for a while).

I've noticed the same bug and I think its from 2 instances of psp vintage warmer. I bet if you remove one or even just turn off its speaker it will be fine.

i removed some vst's i did'nt actually use and it's fine now. and i don't think it's the 2 instances of psp vint warmer, cuz i have a lot of sets wit 3, 4, or 5 of them... so. anyway. glad it's workin now
