ADVICE FOR A NEWBIE PLEASE...

HELP. IM RUNNIN LIVE 7 ON AN 3GHZ AMD ATHALON DUAL CORE X2 6000+ WITH 2 G RAM AND NEARLY 600G STORAGE PLUS AN M AUDIO DELTA 2496 SOUND CARD. WHEN USIN LIVE IM HAVIN LATENCY PROBLEMS PLUS CRACKLES AND POPS.

WILL IT CHANGE IF I UPGRADE TO 8 GB RAM?

WHAT CAN I DO?

Follow the Live lesson on audio hardware setup and then read chapter 30 in the manual to ensure all your settings are optimal.

check that the machine doesn't have bad dpc latency.

there's a tool claled dpc latency checker availaible somewhere on line.

it's been a terrible problem for me on laptops recently and has caused pops and crackles when using fancy soundcards.

if you do have bad dpc latency try turning off unneccsary devices one by one. (the casue is often bad drivers)

if that doesn't worj you'll need a new laptop. (just like me :( )

Adjust your audio buffer size accordingly! If your machine cant handle an optimal buffer size then you have alot of reading to do in order to optimize your computer for this kind of stuff.
