Clip envelopes have no effect on devices.

i can't get clip envelopes to have an effect on devices. i add an effect, it becomes available as a destination for the envelopes but when i pick a parameter and draw an envelope, i hear nothing. the envelopes work fine the standard volume, offset etc, just not for devices. i read the manual cover to cover, grabbed the latest version of ableton live, searched through these forums and the internet in general. what am i missing?

i need to update this because it looks like some devices will automate and others will not. the redux is one i am having trouble with. the hard or soft bit redux dont seem to do anything. anyone else have this problem.

I'm guessing you're drawing automation in session view?

The clip envelopes in session view have a "relative" effect to the defined value as opposed to arrange view where the automation envelopes themselves actually define the value.

Stick the Redux on Hard or Soft turn the knob all the way up and then draw your envelope......
