Yea, im in San Diego right near the North Park area. Been messing around with 8 suite for a few months by myself and miss the chilled out jam sessions of the old acoustic days.

I'm located a couple miles from Grossmont College. Used Live since v1.5, but only in studio (weird, I know).
Still, I might have an hint or solution or two if you need one.
As you both know; not too much of a live/creative music scene in this country, considering its size.
Some really interesting music is coming out of producers who live either in Tijuana or near the Mexican border...for instance the TJ Live Fest ("Rock, Ambiental and Electronic Music in Tijuana 09") last June.
Live 9.1 <> occasionally Reason 4.0.1 <> Reaper.latest! <> Windows 7 on a bespoke Intel Q6600 <> ASUS P5E <> 8GB RAM, M-Audio Delta 2496 and that's it.

TJ live fest has some good stuff, like Nortec collective started the wave of hip mexican music coming around.

Too suburban really, but North Park/Hillcrest has really blown up music wise in the past yr or 2, hipster haunts and tight jeans at every corner but great electronic music every now and then at places like Kadan, Air Conditioned, U-31.

BrokenBeat night at kadan is prob the best night IMO in the area, especially cause its all live electronic performances based around ableton. Check it out, can link to some pics and info if you like. next one is oct 6 i think.

Sweet christ did DJ Numark ever put on a sick set last night at U-31 in north park. incredible, live re-works and remixes that i dream of doing in ableton using 1200's and a rane. Guys a turntablist of the highest caliber, which IMO is what has yet to be accomplished in the live PA realm. I'd like to think the people like us on this forum are going to be the ones to change that.

Hey All,

I'm in Redwood Village, just about a mile south of SDSU. I've been using live since version 4 or 5, currently on 7.

Would love to get in on a jam session. I do several different styles of music. Here's a link to my stuff if you're interested in checking it out.

Hey everyone,
Everything is set for production although im still working out one last kink on my separate dj setup - my korg zero 8 does not want to play well with traktor scratch pro although Ableton is working ok. all in all im stuck with playing vinyl with some Ableton tricks.

Could be worse, man. Let's get together and make some noise.

It's all about the workaround, the happy accident.

Hello guys,

I am a new ableton suite user and wanted make some friends who also use it and live in SD area. I go to SDSU but live in Chula Vista. I used to DJ with the pioneer 800 mixer and cdjmk3s. Now I am hoping to DJ with just my macbook pro, audio interface and xone 92 (to be purchased). I am into electronic dance music, but I am open to any type of music.

A group email list sounds great, heres my number: 619-240-1707

Been messing around with Ableton for a couple months now, trying to get a laptop dj set-up going. Currently working with launchpad, macbook, nanokontrol, and BCF200.
Looking to sell the BFC2000 if any of you SD users are interested. Also looking to meet some other people who use live.

Holy Shit!!! I need to log onto this site more often. Alright guys lets get down to organization. All my stuff is set up and ready to go plus i just moved into a new place with more space. My room isnt the best for acoustics but it will get the job done. What shall we call this little San Diego group?

I'm down to connect. I'm from Fallbrook, but just moved back to North County SD from a long stint in Philly. I currently live in San Marcos. I'm working with Ableton Live 8 and a MBP 13'. I'm a former Akai MPC user. so still trying to figure out the transition from mpc to ableton.

Not really down with all the stuff usually associated with the music scene, booz, weed, etc... but I do love music (hip hop/electronica). Anyone down to build on that alone... I'm up to work with.

Fellahs,

I'm in Chula Vista and would be up for meeting to hang out and chat Ableton. I can also help out new users get up to speed on production or mixing with Live.

I just setup a Facebook group for San Diego Ableton Users:

Cheers,
