5% is a pretty big number.
I'm pleasantly surprised. Erm, does that statistic have a source?

80% of the time, 95% of people will download music for free instead of paying for it.

Re: Only 5% of downloaded music is paid for
Haha people in my social circle called me a loser when I left my studio engineer job in 2001 and got a proper office based job. They thought they would be able to make music full time, sit in the studio and smoke blunts and get paid £3000 for a electronic/dance EP. They thought "yeah we could easily knock out an ep a week and make £120k a year". Maybe retire at 45.
Now who's laughing you dicks? I've been getting paid and have work/real world experience but still make music in the evenings and at weekends. I love the fact that there is no pressure and I can make what I want. Yes the most I have ever been paid for a track is £350 but so what, I just love making tracks at my own leisure. I don't want to be a DJ or fly around the world playing at festivals.
Now you losers have realised that you have to get a proper job but you have no experience so are struggling. Who the hell is going to take on a 30 year old dude with no work experience? Sorry but its become clear in the last year that actually I'm the one who was right. Yer so I missed getting wasted at a few London Sunday night raves cos I had work the next day.
But the fact is that I can afford new studio toys when I want but you're still sitting on Logic 5.5 and you have to keep bouncing audio through Camel Phat one track at a time.
Hahaha I won.
