Cubase's busses work just fine.

Especially since Cubase/Nuendo 4 when the program was upgraded audio engine wise and flex routing wise.

I love how createdigitalmusic.com did a write up of this whole fiasco and linked to this thread. We are internet famous!

Villalobos is a tool. Familiar with a bit of his work and dont mean to discredit his contributions to electronic music, but fuck that guy.

Computer games suck now that they're not text based and run in DOS. Oregon Trail purist.

I think all he's trying to say here is the majority of people who use Live to DJ do so using Complex mode which frankly sounds like ass on a club system. As someone already pointed out, he uses it from time to time, so clearly he's not hating on the software, but is rather just pointing out it sucks that Ableton has become the lowest common denominator for laptop DJs who don't know what the hell they're doing or warp setting to use.

alchahofa, the au harem d'archimedes, achso, countless remixes.
As if there weren't enough reasons to hate on techno for its repetition (and this is a genre I love), Villalobos only gives us more: that stuff makes me fall asleep because he insists on taking one musical idea to extremes. It's pushing the frontiers of PATIENCE.

But on a broader level, anyone who complains about Live's summing engine cannot have heard Scion's "Arrange And Process Basic Channel Tracks", which - by the way - did a damn sight more to progress techno and minimal than Villalobos ever did.

rearranging 18 year old classic technotracks brought techno any further???? sorry.. I preffer the originals...
Most people i know do.

I heard Ricardos Harem Archim. in bars that usualy never play techno... That actually brought techno further...
And its a great album to test Subwoofers

"Techno" was sabotaged from within by dickwads like this guy. Now all we have is rock music that could have been done 40 years ago and better, and inane repetitive butclump music.

no no..that was others... the berlin dj´s and producers managed it that this music still is very popular within the borders of the city ...as soon you hit other areas of the country you will find people astonished when the hear that you still go to techno clubs... for them its an totally unhip yesterday BROnG BRONGS BRONGS music... and indeed.. in theire areas thats the club reality..
caused by low spirits, dungeon tresor schranz and alike antitechno...horrible...

But thats defently not caused by Ricardo

I think most people here took what he said the wrong way...

He was just saying he Live doesn't have the sound he's ultimately trying to accomplish. It's his preference-- he wasn't knocking Live. Just basically stating that Live won't help him get to where he wants to be sound-wise.

I suppose a bit more of a correction on my part is due...

N4's stereo field tends to collapse a bit through it's busses...also there's a slight degradation of audio that I can hear..barely..but it's there. In the end
it really didn't matter to me though as most people couldn't tell...so I just shrugged and grouped anyhow. BUT when it does bother me..is when i wished
they would've done VCA busses ala PT. Anyhow..this is a Live board and i've taken this OT.

When they went out of business I stopped using sequencers. It was 'till recently the only one I used (I don't count the unavoidable ProTools here), I entirely moved to Max/MSP, which now drives me to Live with MaxForLive I can do anything in Max, but Live is faster for standard setups. Only now with the integration of Max it will serve my needs...
