i hear what you're saying about meeting new people and being open to opportunities.

sure you can learn at home but you definitely can't spend 3 months in new york at home (if you live in denmark)

being out of the house is the only way to find the next cool opportunity and who knows where it will take you. If the money isn't a problem and you want to travel, then why not?

if i was going, i'd be looking for a way to recoup that money, like you did with the didge. Fortune favours the brave, so they say :)

thanks for the reply boomstix

yeah, i tend to think more like this way - ive been moving around for about 17 years and it does change the perspective on the value of things outside of a monetary way of thinking - i hope to be able to look back on my life and have lots of memories of great experiences as opposed to nice things that i have bought and owned etc etc - again this is no disrespect to anyone who wants to shop like crazy and own loads of stuff -

i cant remember how many nice situations that i have ended up because of playing Yidaki (didge) - countless - invited to stay at peoples homes, invited to play at places, ended up at some great parties, met some amazing people - etc etc etc ...

and privileged enough to stay on Aboriginal land with Yolngu people and going cutting Yidaki traditional style on its own was well worth spending my last $200 on the train fare to the fringe festival

anyway - this thread is turning more into a blog than anything else so maybe i ll just shut ma mouth here

but anymore comments from people who have attended dubspot would be welcome

You can pay for my flight to Iceland and and my Jever and I can come to Iceland and teach you :)

Ha, wish I could go back to Iceland. One of the most beautiful places I have visited.

Anyway, best to you on whatever you choose.
