No, Doepfer gear so far, ordering some today, but will check out midibox64 one more time before I do

With the Doepfer PC boards, how are you planning on dealing with the power? Are you just going to run four wall warts, or do you have another option? I'm interested, because I've got one sitting here myself, and if there's a fairly easy way to chain them all together, I might pick up a few more.

I'm thinking of removing the bottom right encoder and adding one in. Might just use the encoder though - the Doepfer encoders have an accelerate function which allows 'flicking' like a crossfader

With the Doepfer PC boards, how are you planning on dealing with the power? Are you just going to run four wall warts, or do you have another option? I'm interested, because I've got one sitting here myself, and if there's a fairly easy way to chain them all together, I might pick up a few more.

My wall warts provide 9V/1000mA each but the units only need 100mA each so I figure I will just make up a little distribution board and run 'em all off one supply.

Macro, I am a bit confused by your layout. You are using the Doepfer units which have 16 rotary encoders per board, however I see 40 encoders on your design. You are just going to let eight encoder inputs on one board go unused? Also, I see a joystick on the boards upper right hand side of the controller. I have yet to see a joystick incorporating standard 3pin on/off off/off off/on output configuration required for use with the Doepfer units, so am I to understand that you intend to use a Dopefer Pocket Controller as well as the three Pocket Dials to provide the analog input? Just looking for a little clarification on what you intend as far as the units guts are concearned.

Yes, some encoder headers will go unused, but as I have a stock of the pots themselves it's no big deal

The Doepfer CTM64 has four potentiometer headers on it, two of which will be operated by the joystick, possibly one other by a crossfader replacing the bottom right hand potentiometer

No problem - what level of information do you want? Just a cut-out CAD drawing of the front panel or internal layouts, or everything down the the level of a parts list? Would you rather wait until I have found out how much it will cost to build?

Well, it's a question of time. CAD cutout week after next, parts list in about 3 months, and everything else in the space inbetween

Thing is, all the parts will be UK spec - any use to you?

Ah of course! I cant beleive I forgot about the 4 analog (controller) inputs on Doepfers CTM board. That will work out nicely for you...

Have you decided on a joystick? Most that I found were a bit overpriced IMO, I would be interested to see what you have decided on...

I am also interested in what kind of rotary encoders you are planning to use... You said you already have a stockpile? I am going to be using bourns 24ppr encoders on my MIDIBox.

Good to see others serious about the DIY approach, I hope we can offer each other some usefull info.
