I'm really sorry if this thread is upsetting you or ableton and I dont make the right kind of music (most of the time).

dna598, make sure you start a thread over at the feature request forum. I don't know if you did already, but I haven't seen it over there.

Not in front of my machine at the moment but can't Recycle be made to be the default audio editor? So you could say pull a full song into Arrangement view. Crop out the break and then consolidate it into its own audio file. Click to edit that - comes up in Recycle. Do your editing. I guess it lacks a slick way to then save the .rex file back into arrangement but that isn't hard.

this fellow was the first one to call BULLSHIT on the whole slicing fiasco, 2.5 yrs ago.
During a beta no less. When, one might be forgiven for assuming, there was time & room to change the behaviour. I am both sad and not surprised to hear that it's just as sucky 2.5 yrs later on live 8.

It's almost amusing to see idiots who are completely oblivious to the shortcoming, offer their useless advice. back then and today.

The whole point was to not use recycle, hence "incomplete".

i'd like to see this feature too, slicing in ableton is still not as good as it should be.
