you've said the same about the APC, the Launch Pad and max4Live.

what do you think of the Serato collaboration?
no I didn't. Not being interested in something isn't the same as questioning people getting excited over just a color change when there are now comparable controllers with more options for less $$.

you weren't??? I'll find the posts.

I left off Live 8 as well, you were anti-upgrade when it came out.

Well beyond the obvious aesthetic changes there will now be a bus-powered 128 with the tilt function. DOPE.

Would it be that difficult to get more colors on the monome? even if there was only 2?

Cylob, who patches with supercollider, has been able to create a dimmer for the lights by tweaking the refresh rate of the LEDS - so he can achieve three (or 4?) states for each button including OFF. Not sure if that's been done with max/msp though.

I wonder what is up with the Octint project?

Most likely, by the the time that becomes a reality, there will already be affordable multitouch tablets adding to the picture as well. And I'm sure it will have velocity sensitivity as even iphone apps can be velocity sensitive now.

I am someone who does not care much about how music making gear looks and cares more for what it does (though I don't judge or criticize people who think otherwise). In the light of this statement, can someone tell me why I should get a monome and not a Lauchpad, assuming I am fine with having an 8x8 grid (for more, I know I need to get a monome)

Thanks,

Korhan

I'm a huge fan of the monome project but I see no reason to get a monome if Live is your main DAW. if you want to run apps without Live and can spend more money, then get a monome.

even then I'm sure they'll sell out.

Not true. There's already monopad which can make 2 Launchpads behave like 1 Monome 128:
