Nocturn & Live!

Right, i'm being a right chump. I've just got hold of a nocturn and i'm trying to assign the crossfade in order to control live in a DJ set up. I suspect i'm just being an idiot and the answer is very simple, but i cant figure it out.

Also, is it true that i cant control any native fx/vst/au's with automap? But i can control these on the nocturn over midi?

Any help would be great, sorry for being a dildo...

is there a remote template for live 8 using novation nocturn (automap ) for windows xp , too ? love to have this and the links in the article came out to be for mac ....
thankful for a link and not well orientated in the forum as being new ...
