The Buffer Shuffler looks pretty useful too.. I've used a billion and six different Buffer apps in my day (I use Reaktor) and even my jaded sensibilities were impressed whilst watching that video.chevthewizard wrote:Excellent stuff. Wanted this functionality for ages. This is definitely the most useful MFL example I've seen so far. Finally I can sidechain EQ movements!

Dope! This is exactly like the Fruity Peak Controller in FLStudio. Been wanting this in Live forever..
Re: Simple MFL example: Sidechain any Device Control
Sidechainer not in the beta yet?
Re: Simple MFL example: Sidechain any Device Control
patch is great indeed. respect for mike.chevthewizard wrote:Excellent stuff. Wanted this functionality for ages.
but that particular functionality *was* available for ages. and do not required m4l, take a look here: http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?t=128394
there is even option for smoothening midi response that someone else requested. it is called "inertia".

bumpity bump.
very cool video Mike, thanks for posting!!
I've been under the impression that we couldn't control Live devices which bummed me out, now I'm unbummed!! if I follow correctly this means we could make a patch that randomizes Operator's settings, yes?
did anyone else think the volume was really low? looks like my computer's speakers are cranked and I could barely hear it (Live is using my sound card, youtube is using the onboard card which I'm not as familiar with.)

Dude an Operator randomizer would be pretty easy to build. Yes you can use the API in M4L to control any device parameter, including the Ableton ones like Operator.Tone Deft wrote:bumpity bump.

I thought of you just the other day when I was using my LineFO device to mess up Operator. Fun times.

Yeah, the problem with a vst or third party solution is that every move of the knob, you get an undo point in Live. so if your an indecisive kind like meself, your gonna run into problems.
Can't talk about The Knight Rider. Top secret stuff. when it's revealed people will know!arctic ranger wrote:it it the turbo boost that jumps the car in the air? or is it the turbo boost that just makes it go faster?jOop. wrote:What's the "Knight Rider" effect I noticed in your Max Audio folder?

Re: Simple MFL example: Sidechain any Device Control
so you can link max to any line device, but does it work for 3rd party plugs too?
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.
Re: Simple MFL example: Sidechain any Device Control
Nice job, Mike! Great to see the focus on Live integration in these patches.
