Bizarre volume jumps

Post by taximouse » Sat Oct 10, 2009 9:28 pm

I am experiencing bizarre volume changes on some tracks in the arrangement view.

As the song is playing back, when the spot where a clip starts playing the track volume will be VERY loud for maybe a second, then it will go down to where it is supposed to be.

I have checked a million times: the clip volume envelope has nothing in it that would cause the leap, neither does the clip mixer volume, nor the track volume envelope or the master volume envelope.

If I stop the song and start playing back from just before the spot where the clip begins...THE VOLUME LEAP IS NOT THERE.

If I wait a minute and then play back again, THE VOLUME LEAP IS THERE

The changes occur always in the same spot, on the same clips in the same track.
There are 10 other tracks with clips playing simultaneously that are not affected by the volume jump.

I have found a temporary solution that I think is working, I need to test it more...

- cut the offending clip, save the song and then paste it back into the same spot

This happened to me in 8.0.4 and I just installed 8.0.5 and it is still happening

(I posted last night about this. Since I installed 8.0.5. all the clips in my set say 120 BPM, even though the song is 151 BPM and the clips were 151 BPM until I saved the set into 8.0.5)

I'd be curious to know when you heard a fix might be coming. The problem seems to be more frequent in the last 2 days, since I upgraded to 8.0.5.

It happens somewhere in my set about every 30 minutes and since I'm trying to make a mix down, its driving me crazy

its still being investigated by the devs so no fix date as of yet.

i cant seem to pin down exactly when it happens or why - i have plents of tracks in a set where the problem never occurs, and others where it occurs consistently

as you say, it is pretty annoying - not sure why more people don't seem to be complaining about it
