Select next scene on launch not working, any ideas why not?

Post by LeifonMars » Sun Nov 01, 2009 10:42 am

Hi gents,
Haven't ever really used select next scene on launch, but now I need this function, and it fails (I have turned it on from preferences). Any ideas why it won't work? I'm on 8.0.8.

Cheers

It only works if you launch the scene by pressing the enter key, not by using the mouse - have you tried that?

Thanks for the reply. It indeed works only by pressing the enter key. Lame. Now I have to figure out a way to assign my controller button to enter key.

I do believe it also works with the Mackie Control command, if that helps...

You can map a MIDI controller on the "scene launch" button, which is only visible as long as the MIDI mapping switch is enabled. Make sure that your controller sends note messages. In case it sends CC messages, configure your controller to send a CC value of 127 on button-press and 0 on button-release (127 will fire the currently selected scene, 0 selects the next scene).

Yes, I take my words back. Not lame, not lame at all. I'm organizing audio for theatre for a small act on our tiny stage. Lightguy will be firing the audio as well and he needs an idiotproof system.

Maybe I'm not understanding this correctly, yes, it is selecting the next scene but it is not playing it.
Is this correct?
I'm thinking it should play after it being selected without setting up Follow Actions, am I incorrect?

Thanks

Select next scene on launch. Not launch next scene.
Meaning, when you launch a scene, the next one will be selected (on deck) and ready to be launched.

Thank you for the reply.
Yes, it is now loading the next scene but it is not firing it off. Scene 1 keeps repeating. I'm using the enter key?
Shouldn't it progress to scene 2 (Which it is) and play it or must I manually fire it off myself?
