I know from other posts that the drivers for firewire audiophiles aren't great but I can't find anyone with my specific problem and its driving me nuts!!
I'm running XP on an Acer Aspire laptop with Centrino 1.4ghz, 512MB RAM and on downloading the latest drivers (first installation of a second hand unit) I'm getting the screen freezing after a few minutes of booting up.
Everything else seems fine. Audio continues to run but the machine doesn't respomd to any input from the mouse or keyboard, not even ctrl-alt-del! So I just have to reboot using the power on/off switch. Considering I got this unit so I could DJ out live using an external mixer this is far from ideal!
Anyone else had this problem? Anyone solve it? I've got in touch with M-audio tech support so we'll see what they say but thought I'd see if anyone here knows about these things too.
EDIT: Oh, I forgot to say, I uninstalled the drivers and all was back to its usual stable self so I think its fair to say its the drivers fault in some way or other...
Cheers
Mark
firewire audiophile display freeze
I've tried using them but get a 'beyond logic' error on the firewire. Is there a way I can use the audiophile without installing the maudio drivers at all? Will the asio4all drivers recognise it?
One other thought. I'm using a fireiwre cable other than the one in the box cos it came without one (second hand you see). Might this be a problem?
