Mic through XLR toAbleton, How to stereo?

Post by KayneCross » Sat Nov 14, 2009 12:53 pm

just purchased a mic (shure sm57) and have it running through the right hand side of my soundcard (fast track pro) when recording into Ableton i arm the channel and the main record button with the channel set to IN. It only seems to be recording the right hand side, is there a way of making the input from the mic 'stereo?'

have also tried running the mic into the mic input on my allen & heath xone 62 but for some reason doesn't record the mic channels into my soundcard, hmmmmmmmmmmmm?

can anyone shed any light on this?

:(

Hello,

You must set the audio input on the track you are recording to as "input 1" or "input 2" instead of "input 1&2". Access the In/Out view via the View menu if it is not visible. Then see on top of the volume fader, "Input chooser", should be "Ext in", and below should be the right input, as indicated above.

Best,
Christian
