Music & Science Fiction: call for entries

Post by bicarbone » Mon Nov 16, 2009 10:57 pm

So it's a kind of a small contest for a compilation CD meant to be released in Switzerland only (not a big market share I know).
It seems you can give it a go regardless which country you live in.
Not much to gain but nothing to lose (no subscription fee or such).
Especially if you're the lazy procrastinating kind like me, a deadline is sometimes what you need

Here is the link to all the blabla, terms and conditions:

http://ailleurs.ch/index.php?s=en&m=6&blid=63

Cheers,

Martin

EDIT: All genres accepted, deadline is November 25th (Swiss Time = GMT + 1:00).

PS: I made a track myself (and got some help from users on this forum to get the mix right, thanks again folks).

I sent my song in yesterday and got an acknowledgment of receipt.
We will be informed of acceptance by year end - (supposedly on Dec 10).
Anyone else have a go at it?

You all who have submitted something, what about you post a link to your track?

The rules of engagement say that the track must be previously unreleased.

Doesn't that mean no public display at all before they accept it?

Just what constitutes a 'release', legally?

Ah, maybe you've got a good point here Jim. But I guess they mean unsigned when they say unreleased... Well, we can bump this thread in a few weeks.

People post their tracks everywhere as soon as they're proud enough of their work, or sometimes even beforehand. So I doubt they'll get much sheer unreleased-never-disclosed-to-the-outer-world material. Does it even still exist in the internet era and in the broadcastyourselfevenifyouvegotnothinginterestingtosay days?

Releasing something is really just one click away nowadays.

I submitted a track I finished several months ago found here, but I think I was 18 minutes late in my submission as I didn't take into account the time difference. Oh well, we'll see if it's accepted. Good luck to all!

Interesting picture, since I called my piece "Return of the Krell". It is similar to the Barrons' soundtrack sonically.
The material I used may be found here:
