Make the song stop like applying the break on your turntable
I am a DJ by trade. I play HIP HOP, Break Beats, old school break dance beats. I am hearing alot of artist doing that sound I use to do when I applied the break on my Numark TTX's or my CDJ;s. Where in the middle of a lyric I hit stop button and it stops the platter hard but with a slight turn before it comes to a complete stop. For example, Snoop Doggy Dogg, in his new song -That's tha homies. Does it alot on the record. How do I do this in Ableton.

So how do I do that. I want to select a certain part of the song to do it. The tapestop method is a bit hard to use.

That's cool but I am new and still learning. I thought this was a place to learn. Not for people to get frustrated when people asked questions. If this is you then you shouldn't respond to the thread. Remember you too was a newbie as well once upon a time.

No excuse for not doing a search so people don't have to answer a question that has been asked and answered so many times. A simple search will get you a trove of information. Stop being so damn lazy and filling up the forum with this stuff.theoriginaldjtranz wrote:That's cool but I am new and still learning. I thought this was a place to learn. Actually, I disagree... This question is equal to any question I've heard on the forum- someone in need of creative and/or technical help. True, searching can lead to answers, but not everyone is good at searching, and sometimes just asking the question gets a more immediate answer, or at least a forum within this forum to discuss back and forth the question(s) at hand... So, I would say, yes, search... But also keep asking like this... you did nothing wrong at all..... Word up!

You can do this with the grain-delay. Someone made a youtube video about it. I don't have the exact numbers on hand for how to set it up. Search for "tape stop" or something similar.

I don't agree. I am a Director of sales for a major company and you know how many times I hold training about the same stuff over and over again? I feel like I am a tape recorder sometimes. Do I get upset over it? No! That is the reason behind it. There are no stupid questions. I do this for fun it is my hobby, It seems like your not very professional. People like you would never be able to handle my high profile clients. Again you do not have to respond to the post. There are so many post that you could visit, but it seems like you have nothing else to talk about so you go on these forums and find ways to be negative. The forum is for learning regardless if it was spoken about before or not. Thanks to all who responded I appreciate all the help. Lennon turn the page don't go to these places and respond if you don't have anything nice to say, show some respect to those who are here for the first time. Or time and time again. it's what makes going into the forums fun to chat with experienced people. Besides the proffessional likes to talk about things he/she is good at. Me I love showing people how good I am at what I do. Get a life. Lazy? I am not. My 1099 shows I am far from being lazy.
