Key Mapping Record Function

I just started using Ableton Live a few days ago and so far I'm really enjoying it. I just started to explore the Key Mapping but I have run into an issue. Say for instance I choose the letter "a" to arm the track to record. When I press the letter "a" the key icon goes red and back to yellow and does not arm the track to record. The track is selected but it does arm the track. If I use my track pad then click on the button to arm it works fine, what am I doing wrong or missing here?

Letters on the keyboard are assigned to MIDI notes by default.

When you go to map your keys, turn off the little keyboard icon next to the KEY mapping button. Then hit your A key again.

Everything should be fine.

the only button i didnt click made it work! go figure
