right click in different areas, the text goes into the Help box in the lower left corner of the GUI.

the info view is useful but i always forget i put notes their hehe
if your on a pc look up vst notes .. its real handy
i don't know of anything yet for a mac but i havn't looked in like 6 months or so.
another thing i do is use the markers and deactivated clips to leave notes for me as well

Yes, Info View is very useful. I often put notes regarding the set-up of my track for live performance as a note in the first clip in track 1 so that I can quickly check for what start settings I should check to avoid surprises.

I use Sidenote on my Mac. It stays out of the way until you move the cursor to the edge of the screen, then it pops out.
Of course it's useless in Fullscreen and you have to manually change notes for each song
