Not much work indeed, but that would be just another button that makes Live more complicated than it needs to be. We are trying to avoid this whenever we can. If we had added all these little functions that people are requesting (even if they make sense), you'd now look at a cluttered user interface with millions of submenus, options, right-click commands, and whatnot. I'm not saying that your suggestion doesn't make sense, but we (and you) should carefully check whether such an option is really needed or not.mr.ergonomics wrote: But would an option for this in the preferences be an solution (saftey fades on loops on/off or something)? I guess it's not too much work to do it and everyone would be satisfied.
So if you can live with the clicks, how do you go about re-recording your audio in Cubase then? With the clicks? Is re-recording the clicks really any better than the missing transients? The latter can even be avoided by adjusting the loop brace or the start point. If there are no safety fades, as in Cubase, you can't re-record a loop at all without noticeable clicks at any loop repetition. In Live, just move the loop brace a tiny bit away from the transients if they really are affected by the safety fade.mr.ergonomics wrote:I know this "clicking" from cubase and I personally never had a problem with it.
Ok, I have just checked it again and there is really a difference between 7 and 8. Looks like the safety fade is a little too extreme in 8. We have now made some adjustments for the next update (the Live update that is being released together with Max for Live in a few days). Once it is released, could you please check if that works any better?mr.ergonomics wrote: 1. Ok, but why does this happen in live8 and not in live7 (just rechecked it)?
Well, that's a different story. MIDI notes will trigger an envelope in the instrument. This is usually starting off with a perfect zero crossing. No need for a crossfade here.mr.ergonomics wrote: 2. And why doesn't this happen when I use simpler?
