Re: nonome = monome emulator for launchpad
Today I'm encountering a few weird things with Polygomé. I've tried both v97 and v96, but when I open them, the gui is misaligned. Specifically, the 8x8 "monome" grid in the upper left. Any ideas what might be causing that?
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
Re: nonome = monome emulator for launchpad
i would also like to say thank you. i have been playing around with mlr and tried Polygomé. Couple questions:
1)when monome apps say they need monomeserial does that mean nomome and us launchpad users also need it? I guess i'm confused at if it is translator app for the monome/pc interface and as such not necessary.
2)some monome apps say they need the older version of run time, is this possible with nonome?
3)has anyone tried the app called npc?

@silverfish - That's weird. I haven't run into that problem before. Just out of curiosity, have you tried restarting? Maybe there is something stuck on a midi channel.
@beatniks3 - You're welcome
You don't need monomeserial. nonome is basically just a monoserial replacement for the Launchpad. Newer versions of Max sometimes break everything but I have no idea why. I'm running 5.0.7 since anything above that seems to give me problems (including the M4L beta). I've never tried npc; give it a shot and let us know how it works!

Re: nonome = monome emulator for launchpad
I found a solution to my problem:
If the max patches are in their respective folders on my desktop, everything loads up fine. I haven't had a chance yet to investigate further, but it got working, so I'm content for now!

Re: nonome = monome emulator for launchpad
anyone having troubles with mlrv? i seem to have set everything up correctly. and it gets to the point where it should work. launched nonome, launched mlrv, chose the right monome in bottom right corner, loaded up songs, turn dac on and the launchpad responds with the flashing button in top right for the delay if i press it it lights up the delay button in the program so i know they are communicating, but if i try to launch track one. the two top left pads light up but it does not play. i can press the topleftmost pad and it will shut off the track and if i launch other tracks the respective pads to stop them light up as well as the first pad that they should be playing on but it refuses to track across the launchpad and i get no sound. anyone have a similar problem or can help out? gonna give up on it for the night
thanks
thanks
Re: nonome = monome emulator for launchpad
just about every flavor of mlr is currently broken with max 5.1 (on snow leopard at least)
I'm using 5.0.7 still, but I wanted to warn people who are upgrading.

I'm a little bit newbie with this universe.
Is it possible to use Nonome with Mas For Live?

It's definitely possible to use nonome with m4l, but it's not currently set up to work that way.

Re: nonome = monome emulator for launchpad
Hi
This is great work. I was really having fun last night, untill i tried using max 5.07
First i was running 5.1 and nothing worked. 5.08 made things alittle better, but i decidet to go for max 5.07 since it seems to be the best choice.
But whatever i do, my mac won´t let me install it, saying a newer version is already installed.
I removed all the max5 folders, and everything in the library and preferences i could find, even emptied the recycle bin, rebooted a couple of times, still no luck.
Been searching on the cycling74 pages with no luck.
Any hints?

How does 7up work with nonome and Launchad? As I recall, the Launchpad uses USB 1.1
Doesn't that mean the refresh rate for the buttons would be really slow?
7up uses blinky lights as well as solid and there are so many pages to switch between, so I was wondering if the USB 1.1 connection could keep up. I like using 7up with my APC40, and version 2.0 for M4L will be even better. If a launchpad could run this app I would be sold.

Max 5.1 will work with nonome. Some of the monome apps in 5.1 won't work, but if you want to use mlrV it has been updated to be compatible and most of the midi apps work already:

As for 7up, it works almost perfectly now if you use the latest version of nonome with my custom built version of sevenuplive. It will only continue to get better since I am working directly with the guys who designed 7up to make it fully nonome compatible (i.e. we're going to use different color / intensity settings to keep up with the various blink speeds).
You can find out more about the current state of nonome/sevenuplive in this thread:

Re: nonome = monome emulator for launchpad
So I hate to be the noob of the Forum but, i have installed nonome software, with the max 5.0.7 runtime, no problem. But When i open Mlrv and Follow the steps my launchpad is controlling somes kind of midi piano and i cannot get anything started on the step sequencer. Any ideas would be greatly appriciated, just got ableton the other day so it has already given me countless frusterated hours in front of my screen.
