Blue Cat Audio free plugins update

Post by bluecat » Sun Nov 22, 2009 5:01 pm

Dear Live users,

We are happy to announce the release of a new version of Blue Cat's Freeware Pack free audio plugins bundle. You might not care a lot here about RTAS plugin format support for Pro Tools, but this new release also includes several fixes and enhancements for the other formats, on both Mac and PC (see below).

Image

What's new in this version:
- Factory presets are now available from the plugin menu.
- RTAS plugin format support (final beta stage - currently available with the Free Pack only)
- Mac: fixed keyboard/mouse focus issues in some hosts.
- Mac: fixed user interface crashes in some hosts, when used with particular display settings.
- Mac-AU: fixed user interface resizing issue when changing skin in some hosts (Logic).
- Mac-AU: fixed settings lost issue when doing offline rendering in some applications.

About Blue Cat's Freeware Pack:
Blue Cat's Freeware Pack is a collection of 9 audio plugins (100% free) including several popular modulation effects, multiple instances-aware gain control plugins, a spectrum analyzer and an EQ. Plugins are freely available for download as a single package or separately.

System Requirements: Windows XP or higher / Mac OS 10.5 or higher.

Enjoy!

Yeah, the Ableton forum is for moaning about prices of things, talking about girlfriends, and other off topic ridiculousness. Why would he promote free plugins here that work in Live, what a jerk...

Thinking that was dramtic irony, humorous non malicious sarcasm.
Pretty sure that's the case, if not, serious faux pas!

Yes I did, and I don't like advertising. Even if it's free or not.
I used to be in the advertising business, and advertising on other companies forums is very unprofessional.

it would only be unprofessional if they were competing but they are not. This is a proper place for advertising such products.

Someone spends a large amount of their time, energy and creativity developing tools to help artists, gives the results away for FREE and you have the audacity to bitch about their ethics?

I sincerely hope you misinterpreted Blue Cats' intentions here. Now's your chance to review your bad call.

Seriously.

Free or not free, I do not want to go on the ableton forums every morning and see advertisements.
I'm simply trying to point out that I think we should keep advertisements off this forum.
If advertisements gets accepted here we will get more and more adverts all the time, and that will be annoying.
Either way, I can see where this is going and I'm not going to be here to see where it ends, so have a nice one guys, I'm sorry to have pissed so many people off.
Peace!

that is exactly what this forum is for, talking about anything ableton, including free plugins that serve a solid purpose and function in live.

and if we see more and more functional and worth while free plugins posted here it saves the rest of us from having to look around the net for them.

This forum has no problem typically with plugin developers advertising their products, so long as they are not too pushy and spammy. Bluecat are not and seemingly get extra kudos now because when they first released their free and paid products and announced that in these forums, it was PC only and there must have been 3 dozen people tell the developer to 'come back when you have Mac plugins'. Spazi, you are a newish forum member so you probably didn't know this in advance.

But Puremagnetik, Track Team Audio, Covert Operators, and Urs from U-He frequently make information known about their products here and because these are good guys and especially the first 3 who concentrate their core business on making Live paks, it is appreciated here.
