The way we select parameters to automate is a pian in the ass.

it could be as easy as : left click > automate parameter:

Please take one minute to see my video where i explain what i mean, as i also did took one minute to record it.

Hi,

Pretty video, thanks. Well, the truth is, any parameter, in the context menu, has a "show modulation" which would switch the view to the clip envelope for this parameter, for the selected clip. It's not available if there is no clip. Then there is "show automation" which should bring you to the Arrangement view and switch this parameter's automation visible.

But, by default, clicking a parameter only should pre-select it in the modulation (clip envelope) and automation chooser. Only if "show automated parameters only" is selected, the auto-selection doesn't work anymore.

A nice workflow to edit modulations is to look at the device, click a parameter, press SHIFT TAB to switch to clip view: the parameter is selected in the envelope editor. Edit, press SHIFT TAB to go back to the device, repeat the operation as needed.

The example you show in the video is a control which affects two parameters at once. So it's difficult to make a choice as what to display. But if you had clicked the gain knob, it would have been automatically selected. Or use the context menu entry.

Kind regards,
Amaury
