MIDI Mapping

Post by MAXTHEDOG » Wed Nov 25, 2009 6:14 pm

Hi all,

Apologies in advance if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find the answer.I've just got Live 8 and an old Kenton Control Freak SE(the one with 16 faders and 16 buttons).I have got a number of clips in the session view and also have recorded an arrangement of these to the arrangement page. What I've found is that after mapping the faders of the Control Freak to the session view channel faders, then running the arrangement I noticed two things:
1.the mappings disappeared after running the arrangement, and
2.the automation written in the arrangement the night before via a Launchpad had also disappeared.

To rectify these I had to close the set without saving,re-open,and re-map.Is this correct or did I not do something?Obviously the arrangement automation had reappeared.
Regards,
Mick

Did you save your project after mapping??

Did you open the project before you switched the controller on?

Hi guanche,

Regarding saving the set,I cant remeber to be honest, but probably not.So toi get this straight...if I add some MIDI mapping in session, run the arrangement with automation in,I need to save the set before i run the arrangement.I'll try it again and see. This Live 8 suite is a big program I'm beginning to find, but its soooo addictive.

Many thanks,

M
